Leave this page open. The timer continues when you switch tabs; it starts fresh if you reload or leave. This exercise offers a pause, without promising that an urge will end in ten minutes.
What is urge surfing?
Urge surfing means noticing an urge without immediately acting on it. Pay attention to the sensations, thoughts and changes you experience, while allowing yourself some space before a decision.
This timer uses five short steps: pause, breathe gently, observe the impulse, choose a safer action and reach out. You can pause the timer or get support at any point.
Ten minutes is a useful window for practice, not a promise that the urge will disappear. If it stays strong, repeat the pause, move away from gambling access or contact support.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to start?
No. Press I feel like gambling to begin immediately. There is no registration or paywall in this tool.
What if breathing exercises feel uncomfortable?
Breathe normally and use the pause to notice your surroundings instead. You do not need to hold your breath or force a particular rhythm.
What if I still want to gamble when it ends?
An urge may last longer than the timer. Try another pause, leave the gambling environment, choose a safe activity or contact a support service. You can use the support links before the timer ends.
Will the timer keep up if I switch tabs?
It uses elapsed time, so returning to the tab updates the countdown. Keep the page open: reloading or leaving the tool resets the session.
