1. Cookies and Browser Storage

Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Local storage is a similar browser feature that lets a website save small pieces of information on your device. This policy covers both.

2. Strictly Necessary Storage

Once you make a choice in our cookie banner, we store it so we don't ask again on every page. This is strictly necessary to respect your choice, so it does not need your consent.

3. Before You Choose, or If You Decline

Before you make a choice, if you decline, or if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal:

• we do not load Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics;
• we do not set analytics cookies;
• we do not store anything in your browser except your cookie choice, once you make one.

We still count clicks on our App Store buttons, without cookies. Each click is recorded as an event in our own database with:

• the event type;
• the page path;
• which button was clicked;
• a random ID created for that single event, which is not stored on your device;
• an approximate country, inferred from your browser's language setting;
• your device type (mobile, tablet, or desktop).

These counts don't use any identifier that stays the same from one visit to the next.

4. If You Accept Analytics

If you click Accept, we load Google Tag Manager, which loads Google Analytics 4. We use Google Consent Mode with analytics storage granted, while ad storage, ad user data, and ad personalization stay denied.

When you accept, our own events (such as App Store button clicks and unique visit counts) also include the pseudonymous visitor ID, the page that referred you, your browser's user agent, and your browser language.

Google Analytics processes information about your visit under Google's own terms. You can read how Google uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

5. Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as if you declined. We don't load Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics, and we don't set analytics cookies or the qb_ storage items listed above. Analytics only loads if you later choose Accept yourself in Cookie settings.

6. Changing Your Choice

You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the website footer. You can also clear cookies and site data for quitbet.co in your browser settings, which removes your saved choice and the items above.

If you change your choice to decline, analytics stops loading from then on, and we remove the qb_ storage items and try to delete Google Analytics cookies from your browser. Data already collected is kept as described in our Privacy Policy.

Google also offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics on all websites: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

7. Fonts, Hosting, and Logs

• Fonts. We host our fonts ourselves, so loading our website does not send requests to Google Fonts.
• Hosting and security. Our website runs on our own web server behind a content delivery and security provider. They record standard server and security logs, including IP address, browser user agent, the URL requested, and the time. We use these logs to keep the site secure and working, and we typically keep them no more than 30 days. The provider may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the site from bots and abuse.
• No advertising. We do not use cookies or browser storage for advertising on our website.
• Links to other sites. When you follow a link to the App Store, Instagram, or another site, that site's own cookie and privacy policies apply.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when our website changes. We'll post the new version here and change the "Last updated" date.
